Norwegian Joy underwent a three-week dry dock from January 22 through February 12, 2024 that introduced significant passenger-area improvements. A new Thermal Suite was created in Mandara Spa & Salon, while Vibe Beach Club was expanded into the former laser-tag area with additional outdoor space and private cabanas.

Twenty-four new balcony staterooms were created from part of the Observation Lounge. The ship's two Haven Premier Owner's Suites were redesigned as three-bedroom accommodations with three-and-a-half bathrooms, renovated living rooms and master bedrooms, new balcony furnishings and separate dining rooms overlooking The Haven Horizon Lounge. Norwegian Joy resumed passenger service on February 13, 2024.
