MSC Lirica completed an extensive lengthening and refurbishment at Fincantieri’s Palermo shipyard as part of MSC Cruises’ Renaissance Programme. The ship was cut in two and a 24-meter prefabricated midsection was inserted, adding 193 passenger cabins and significantly increasing passenger capacity. The project also added and enlarged dining and entertainment venues, expanded children’s areas, upgraded the MSC Aurea Spa, added a spray park and refurbished existing accommodations and public spaces.
