The Vista (2002) class cruise ships were built between 2002 and 2005 for Holland America Line and feature the popular Explorations Café with multiple specialty restaurants. The ships include spacious public areas and a large theater with extensive outdoor promenade areas. The class was designed for refined cruising and destination immersion. The vessels emphasize excellent food and service with comfortable layouts.

Next Scheduled Dry Dock
Early 2028
Zuiderdam is scheduled to become the second ship transformed under Holland America Line's Holland America Evolution program. The ship is scheduled to return to passenger service on April 2, 2028, following a comprehensive refurbishment.

Accommodation changes will include a reimagined Pinnacle Suite, two new forward-facing Bridgeview Suites, 14 Vista Suites and 32 purpose-built Solo Verandah staterooms. Existing accommodations will also be refreshed. The project will introduce the largest Grand Dutch Café planned for the Evolution program and add a dedicated live-music bandstand at the Lido Pool. Further public-space, dining and guest-experience changes are expected to be announced closer to the transformation.

The approximately $16 million project included extensive stateroom refurbishment with new carpeting, furniture and wall coverings, quartz desktops, additional USB outlets, upgraded vanity fixtures, Nespresso coffee makers and new LCD televisions, along with machinery checks, safety inspections, hull servicing, cleaning and repainting.
