Why is tracking not up to date?

I have a daughter on this student cruise and have been trying to track on this site but it is not current. They have been in Yangon, Burma for 3 days and this website still shows them leaving the last port in Singapore? Just trying to find out how this tracking really works.

....and then keep in mind that the number of land based AIS data relays, which are required in order to track the ship, in some areas of Southeast Asia are very sparse.
