The USS Gridley (DDG-101) is part of the USS Nimitz (CVN-68) Carrier Strike Group. The entire group was ordered, just over a week ago, to move from the South China Sea to the Arabian Sea area to support US interests in the Middle East.

The entire USS Nimitz (CVN-68) Carrier Strike Group stopped reporting their positions to the AIS ship tracking services (the civilian ship tracking service that all online ship tracking relies on) on June 17, 2025. This was done for the safety and security of the group while it is forward deployed. They will likely not report their position again until their forward deployment in the region ends.
