Shipyard
Chantier Naval de Marseille
Duration
16 days
Norwegian Dawn underwent a scheduled dry dock at Chantier Naval de Marseille in Marseille, France, in April 2024. The project focused primarily on routine technical maintenance and light cosmetic refurbishment rather than major venue changes. Passenger-area work included refreshed carpeting, wallpaper, tiles, painting and flooring in selected areas, while hundreds of staterooms received cosmetic improvements including refreshed furnishings and finishes and bathroom recoating. Behind-the-scenes work included replacement of insulation materials in cold rooms, galleys and accommodation areas. The ship returned to service following the maintenance and refurbishment period.

Norwegian Dawn completed an extensive bow-to-stern refurbishment at Grand Bahama Shipyard as part of Norwegian Cruise Line’s $400 million Norwegian Edge program. All staterooms were refurbished, the Garden Villas were completely renovated, and major public spaces including the Atrium, casino, Stardust Theater, pool deck and dining venues were extensively rebuilt or refreshed. The project also introduced Los Lobos Cantina, O’Sheehan’s Bar & Grill and Sugarcane Mojito Bar, transformed Spinnaker Lounge into Bliss Lounge, and included extensive technical maintenance.
