Dry Dock In Progress

Carnival Freedom is undergoing a scheduled European dry dock at Chantier Naval de Marseille from September 1 through October 8, 2026.
The confirmed technical scope includes routine maintenance, class inspections and general upkeep. The shipyard period is also expected to restore Carnival's traditional whale-tail funnel by installing a new winged funnel structure. Freedom had operated with a shortened, straight funnel since its March 2024 fire and subsequent emergency wet-dock stabilization. Minor updates to public areas and onboard features have also been reported, although Carnival had not released a detailed passenger-area scope by the research date. Guest service is scheduled to resume in October 2026 with a Western Mediterranean cruise from Barcelona.
