USS Freedom (LCS-1) was a Freedom Class Littoral Combat Ship previously operated by the United States Navy. USS Freedom was built by Marinette Marine in Wisconsin. The ship had an active service life of 13 years.
The Freedom Class ships have suffered from ongoing issues with the Raytheon-built AN/SQS-62 VDS including stability problems and towing issues. The USS Freedom was the first ship of the class to be commissioned and is now the first ship of the class to be decommissioned.
Decommissioned military ships are at times put into reserve service. If USS Freedom is now a reserve ship it may still be trackable on the map below.
