Queen Mary 2 is scheduled for a substantial 40-day extended refurbishment at Damen Shiprepair Brest from March 31 through May 9, 2027. Cunard describes the project as a significant investment intended to renew the liner while preserving her Art Deco identity and transatlantic character.

Thirty-one new accommodations will be added: 16 Princess Grill Suites and 15 Britannia staterooms. Every existing Grill Suite will receive new interiors, furnishings and finishes, along with newly designed bathrooms featuring spa-inspired elements. The Queens Grill and Princess Grill restaurants will also be refreshed.

Additional outdoor deck space will be created for relaxation and sea views, while paddle tennis, pickleball and traditional deck games will remain available. Queen Mary 2's kennels will be redesigned and expanded, with greater capacity, a refurbished owners' lounge and a larger outdoor walking area.

Mareel Wellness & Beauty will be transformed, and a new collection of luxury retail stores will be introduced. Illuminations, the ship's planetarium, will receive a major digital upgrade. Other guest areas, cultural facilities and entertainment spaces will be carefully refreshed under a design vision led by original Queen Mary 2 designer Chris Finch.
