Cunard Dry Dock Schedule 2026-2027

Cunard - Dry Dock

The Cunard's Dry Dock Schedule includes all current Cunard ships, with details on upcoming scheduled dry docks as well as those recently completed. Cruise lines typically plan routine dry docks up to two years in advance to minimize the need to cancel or modify itineraries after bookings open. However, schedule changes are not uncommon. Unplanned events, such as significant mechanical issues, can require adjustments to the schedule, often creating a cascading effect, resulting in itinerary changes or even cancellations for two or more ships.

While sailing on a freshly refurbished ship straight out of dry dock can be a wonderful experience, a last-minute cruise cancellation due to an extended dry dock period can be deeply disappointing. We recommend keeping this possibility in mind when planning your cruise.

Dry dock (drydock)

Is typically a narrow basin that can be flooded to allow a ship to be floated in, then drained to allow that ship to come to rest on a dry platform. Dry docks are used for the construction, maintenance, and repair of ships, boats, and other watercraft. Dry docks are typically used for major repairs and upgrades where it is easier to work on the watercraft while it is physically out of the water. Technological advancements have made use of floating dry docks an option now, allowing the dry dock to come to the ship.

Wet dock (wetdock)

Is a water-filled basin or berth where the ship remains afloat during maintenance or repairs. Wet docks allow for work above the waterline without draining the water, making them suitable for minor repairs, inspections, loading, unloading, or berthing in areas with tidal variations. Unlike dry docks, wet docks do not provide access to the ship's hull below the waterline and are often used for less invasive tasks or when full dry-docking is not necessary.
