Be aware the USS Carl Vinson has not voluntarily reported its position using the Automatic Identification System (AIS) in a long time. Government vessels and military ships are not required to use the AIS system. Almost all of these vessels have AIS equipment onboard and most typically use it outside of wartime conditions, especially when operating near civilian ships for safety reasons, but it is not required. As soon as the USS Carl Vinson does make a report to the AIS system it will automatically be updated on the tracking page linked above.
