Oceania Cruises - Dry Dock

The Oceania Cruises' Dry Dock Schedule includes all current Oceania ships, with details on upcoming scheduled dry docks as well as those recently completed. Cruise lines typically plan routine dry docks up to two years in advance to minimize the need to cancel or modify itineraries after bookings open. However, schedule changes are not uncommon. Unplanned events, such as significant mechanical issues, can require adjustments to the schedule, often creating a cascading effect, resulting in itinerary changes or even cancellations for two or more ships.

While sailing on a freshly refurbished ship straight out of dry dock can be a wonderful experience, a last-minute cruise cancellation due to an extended dry dock period can be deeply disappointing. We recommend keeping this possibility in mind when planning your cruise.

Oceania Insignia completed an extensive stem-to-stern refurbishment at Grand Bahama Shipyard as the first ship transformed under Oceania Cruises’ $100 million OceaniaNEXT program. All 342 suites and staterooms were completely redesigned and refurnished with new bathrooms, furniture, surfaces, lighting, USB ports and interactive televisions. Restaurants, lounges and public spaces were extensively redesigned, including the Grand Dining Room, Martinis, Reception Hall, Grand Staircase and other areas, with new furnishings, artwork, carpeting and décor throughout the ship.

Oceania Insignia completed an extensive bow-to-stern dry dock and refurbishment in Marseille as the first ship in Oceania Cruises’ $50 million fleet-renewal program. All suites, staterooms and public rooms received new furnishings and décor, while the Terrace Café, Horizons, Martinis, Insignia Lounge, Canyon Ranch SpaClub and pool deck were extensively renovated. The project also added Baristas, a new cook-to-order grill, Artist Loft, miniature golf and other Sports Deck amenities, along with technical maintenance and classification work.

Marina is scheduled to enter dry dock in October 2026 for a comprehensive, stem-to-stern transformation launching the next phase of Oceania Cruises' fleetwide OceaniaNEXT program.

Every stateroom will be fully redesigned with new layouts, furnishings and entirely new bathrooms featuring marble finishes and spacious rainforest showers. Penthouse, Oceania, Vista and Owner's Suites will also be refreshed for consistency with their recent enhancements.

Public areas will receive new furnishings, carpeting and lighting. The Grand Lounge will be enlarged and will introduce the new Founders Bar. A Chef's Studio will replace Artist Loft, while Baristas will gain The Bakery. Polo Grill, Red Ginger, Toscana and Jacques will receive refreshed designs and galley improvements. The pool deck will receive new loungers and daybeds.

Marina completed an all-encompassing refurbishment in May 2024, returning to passenger service on May 18.

The project introduced Aquamar Kitchen, an expanded poolside ice cream parlor offering milkshakes and smoothies, and an evening al fresco Italian dining concept at Waves Grill. La Reserve's pairing dinners were transferred to the private dining venue Privée.

Penthouse Suites were completely refurbished with custom furniture, additional closets and cabinetry, new carpeting and upholstery, updated lighting, additional electrical outlets and USB ports, and redesigned bathrooms finished with Italian marble and oversized showers. Other upper suites were refreshed, while public venues including Polo Grill, Martinis, Horizons, the Grand Dining Room and Library received new carpeting, upholstery or other design updates.

Nautica will be completely reimagined and relaunched as Oceania Aurelia under the OceaniaNEXT program, with the transformed ship scheduled to debut in November 2027. The project will reposition the vessel as a lower-capacity ship designed especially for extended global voyages.

The transformed ship is planned to carry fewer than 500 guests with 238 accommodations and approximately 400 officers and crew. Of those accommodations, 179 will be suites, most exceeding 300 square feet. The accommodation portfolio will include remastered Owner's, Vista and Penthouse Suites plus new Oceania Suites, Horizon Suites, Oceanview Suites and Inside Suites. Butler service will be provided in all suites.

Baristas will move to Horizons and gain The Bakery and Crêperie. Additional changes include a new Founders Bar and Chef's Studio, while Artist Loft and the LYNC Digital Center will provide creative and technology programming. All guests will receive access to the Aquamar Spa Terrace. Existing dining venues including The Grand Dining Room, Polo Grill, Toscana, Terrace Café, Waves Grill and the evening Pizzeria will remain part of the transformed ship.

Riviera underwent a stem-to-stern OceaniaNEXT refurbishment at Chantier Naval de Marseille from November 15 through December 1, 2022.

The project renewed the ship's suites and staterooms with custom furnishings, updated fabrics and residential-style design elements. Accommodation bathrooms were rebuilt or substantially updated with new finishes, storage and larger showers. Passenger corridors and numerous public spaces were also refurbished with new carpeting, furnishings, fabrics, lighting, artwork and decorative finishes.

Documented contractor work included passenger cabins, bathrooms and corridors, catering and galley areas, the main and thalassotherapy pools, and refurbishment of the Library. The Library received new carpeting, seating and refinished wall and ceiling surfaces.

Additional work included upgrades to public spaces and technical maintenance during the shipyard period.
