Azamara - Dry Dock

The Azamara's Dry Dock Schedule includes all current Azamara ships, with details on upcoming scheduled dry docks as well as those recently completed. Cruise lines typically plan routine dry docks up to two years in advance to minimize the need to cancel or modify itineraries after bookings open. However, schedule changes are not uncommon. Unplanned events, such as significant mechanical issues, can require adjustments to the schedule, often creating a cascading effect, resulting in itinerary changes or even cancellations for two or more ships.

While sailing on a freshly refurbished ship straight out of dry dock can be a wonderful experience, a last-minute cruise cancellation due to an extended dry dock period can be deeply disappointing. We recommend keeping this possibility in mind when planning your cruise.

Azamara Onward is scheduled to undergo an approximately two-week dry dock in early November 2027 as the second ship to receive the fleetwide Azamara Forward refurbishment program.

The planned work includes refreshed staterooms and suites and upgraded public spaces; transformed nightlife venues; a permanent dedicated Chef's Table experience; a reimagined Discoveries Restaurant; relocation and redesign of Atlas Bar in the space outside Discoveries Restaurant; a full transformation of the Cabaret Lounge; and spa enhancements. The new Penthouse Deck being added to Azamara Quest is exclusive to that ship and is not included in Onward's project.

The refurbished Onward is scheduled to return to guest service on November 25, 2027, with a seven-night Italy Intensive cruise from Athens to Rome.

Azamara Pursuit completed a scheduled dry dock at Seaspan Vancouver Drydock as part of the ship's regular maintenance program. Azamara described the work as involving important maintenance and inspections.

The shipyard period also coincided with Pursuit's scheduled installation of the first fleetwide THESANCTUM spa enhancements developed by Azamara and OneSpaWorld. The announced scope included expansion of the spa with a dedicated couples treatment suite and an additional single treatment room, a new wellness and beauty retail area at the spa entrance, and the introduction of physician-led Medi-Spa treatments and medically guided IV therapies. Pursuit returned to service from Vancouver on August 27, 2026, beginning a repositioning voyage to Asia.

The multi-million-pound project extensively renovated staterooms and suites and rebuilt or refreshed restaurants, lounges, spa and fitness areas, and other public spaces to align the vessel with Azamara Journey and Azamara Quest. New furnishings, décor, fixtures and equipment were installed throughout the ship, alongside substantial technical and maintenance work. The conversion prepared Azamara Pursuit for her entry into Azamara passenger service in August 2018.

The work prepared the vessel for its transatlantic voyage to Belfast, where the extensive conversion and interior refurbishment into Azamara Pursuit was subsequently carried out.

Azamara Quest is scheduled for a 26-day dry dock at ONEX Elefsis Shipyards as the first ship to receive the fleetwide Azamara Forward refurbishment program. MJM Marine was selected as the specialist marine interior outfitter for the project. The program is part of an approximately $80 million investment covering all four Azamara ships.

Quest will receive a newly constructed Penthouse Deck 11 above the bridge, with the existing Sun Deck becoming Deck 12. The new accommodation deck will contain 12 suites: two forward-facing Panorama Suites and ten Grandview Suites. Each Panorama Suite is planned with approximately 656 square feet of interior space, panoramic 270-degree views, separate living and sleeping areas, a walk-in wardrobe and a spa-inspired bathroom. The approximately 243-square-foot Grandview Suites will feature floor-to-ceiling views, dual-sink bathrooms, walk-in showers and private balconies.

Shipwide work includes refreshed soft goods, furnishings, carpeting and fabrics in every stateroom and suite; upgraded public spaces and public bathrooms; renovated spa areas; a permanent dedicated Chef's Table venue; a recrafted Atlas Bar outside Discoveries Restaurant; a redesigned Discoveries Restaurant with improved sightlines and more flexible seating; and a full renewal of the Cabaret Lounge, including new furnishings, carpeting, dance floor and entrance. Prime C is expected to receive additional seating, while no major structural changes are planned for Prime C or Aqualina.

The THESANCTUM spa program is scheduled for installation aboard Quest on November 25. Its announced fleetwide scope includes a dedicated couples treatment suite, an additional single treatment room, a new wellness retail area, and expanded Medi-Spa and IV therapy services.

Cruises are scheduled to resume November 26, 2026. The broader Azamara Forward enhancements will officially debut December 18, 2026, when the new Penthouse Deck suites become available for guest use.

The dry dock prepared Quest for her return to service on August 28, 2021, when she began a series of Greece-intensive voyages from Piraeus.

Azamara Quest completed a shipwide refurbishment at Navantia Cádiz that refreshed all staterooms and public spaces and introduced the line's distinctive dark-blue "Azamara Blue" hull. Public areas received new carpeting, upholstery and décor, while staterooms and suites received new mattresses and upgraded veranda furniture. The pool was resurfaced, the Casino Bar was expanded, and the spa and fitness center gained a new steam room, showers and updated fitness equipment. Dining enhancements included a new caviar and champagne bar in Aqualina and the introduction of the Chef's Table dining concept.
