Caribbean Fantasy Was Decommissioned In 2016
Caribbean Fantasy was a cruise ferry previously operated by America Cruise Ferries. The ship had an active service life of 27 years.
On August 17, 2016 a catastrophic engine room fire broke out near San Juan, Puerto Rico, causing approximately $20 million in damage. Due to the extensive damage, owners Baja Ferries declared the ship a constructive total loss. In late 2016 it was subsequently sold for recycling rather than being repaired. In 2017 the vessel was towed to a shipbreaking yard and dismantled for scrap metal. Further tracking information will likely not be available.
