An ever-increasing number of cruise lines are now requiring passengers to have a COVID-19 booster shot to be considered "fully" vaccinated under their vaccine policies. This means two-dose COVID-19 vaccination courses will require a third booster vaccination, and single dose vaccine (Janssen) will require a second dose booster vaccination.

Cruise Lines currently requiring or scheduled to require COVID-19 Booster vaccinations:
  1. Azamara: March 1, 2022
  2. Cunard Line: January 14, 2022
  3. Grand Circle Cruise Line: April 1, 2022
  4. Hapag-Lloyd Cruises: February 14 2022 (guests age 12 and over)
  5. Lindblad Expeditions: March 1, 2022
  6. Overseas Adventure Travel: April 1, 2022
  7. P&O Cruises: January 3, 2022 (Caribbean Cruises)
  8. Silversea Cruises: March 1, 2022
  9. TUI: February 23, 2022
  10. UnCruise Adventures: February 5, 2022
  11. Viking: February 1, 2022

France has also required booster shots for cruise passengers going ashore. As of January 15, 2022 all cruise passengers, 18 and over, will be required to have had a COVID-19 booster shot at least seven days prior to the cruise in order to go ashore in France. France is the first country to require a COVID-19 booster shot for cruise tourists.
