Is there a way to simply see which ships are out on a particular river and where they are heading to using this site?

Yes, its called our Port Tracker.

Just go to the Port Tracker page and in the search box type in the closest port you are looking for ship traffic near then you can manipulate the map to view the exact location you are looking for. If you think we are missing a port you would like to track, just send us a message through the contact form at the bottom of the page and we will add it. We are currently tracking traffic in nearly 2000 ports Worldwide.
