Just got assigned a room by the elevator and stairs. We are hoping it isn't too noisy. Anyone have any comments on this?

Unless you're very light sleepers and have had issues before while cruising I wouldn't worry too much. I know for myself anytime I'm cruising I usually pretty beat by the time I want to sleep and there isn't much that is going to wake me before I'm ready to get up :)

If you are truly concerned you can look into getting a room assignment change, but this will be completely dependent on the cruise line and what kind of fare you purchased.

We were near the front elevators on Liberty of the Seas and never heard any noise. Very convenient location! I believe it was Gs 1548.

We were in a cabin on Voyager right next to the forward elevators.... no noise what-so-ever and extremely convenient after a long day (and night) and we couldn't face the stairs.
